Home - Journeys - Thailand 2022 - Wednesday, March 9, 2022

Last night we slept well again with the family in Lat Krabang.
That is mainly, we think, because of the familiar environment and a much better bed.

Pia has agreed with a friend in the Netherlands to buy a gold chain, and she has also agreed that we will buy that chain as short as possible before our return trip. Today is the day.
But first we have to go to Hua Ta Kee to buy 200 eggs. They are needed because tomorrow we go to Wat Luangpho Sothorn in Chachoengsao, and both Pia and Moue have promised to offer 100 cooked eggs each.

We drive to Hua Ta Kee and we park behind the market. After a while we have bought the eggs. But also old eggs, salty eggs, a nail scissors, laos, lemongrass, krachai, cooked khilek and traditional deodorant. And we also pinned money.

We drive on to Seacon, where there is still enough parking space.
When we arrive, it looks like there is a long line with people on the second floor, all near the shop where we want to buy the chain.
But first we buy white wine at Lotus's, and eat something at a Japanese restaurant.
Then it appears that all those waiting people, hundreds, perhaps more than a thousand, are in line for the gold shop where we also want to buy something. They are waiting to sell gold because the gold price is very high. At the store we hear that you can get a number and then have to wait for your turn. We don't feel like it. Pia just walks into the store if the surveillance does not pay attention and she addresses a seller asking if she can just buy something. That is of course possible, and ten minutes later we are outside again with a chain richer, and the girlfriend a lot of money poorer.

We drive back to Lat Krabang and watch tv.
